Espadrillas are a typical Spanish summer footwear, with historic background from the regions of Catalonia and Basque Country. They get their name from the Catalan word “espardenya” and were originally worn by peasants, but in the 20th century where popularized by many cultural figures like Picasso or Dalí. Reinterpreted by us with its traditional jute sole and white canvas fabric but with velvet laces to give them a sophisticated twist.
